Info & Description

Hotel Firenze is the first real youth hostel in the historical city centre of Palermo. The hostel is reborn from an old elegant hotel in liberty style which immerges you in the romantic past when Palermo was an affluent city. Now the hostel is runned by the Italo-Dutch Bruno family.

Hotel Firenze is located in Via Candelai in the lively heart of Palermo's nightlife. Surrounded by pubs, bars and restaurants, the hostel is the ideal location for young travellers.

The hostel is close to the major monuments of Palermo's historical centre (Teatro Massimo, la Cattedrale, i Quattro Canti, Piazza Marina and Palermo's colourful markets) and is thus the perfect starting point for a complete sightseeing tour.

There is a big equiped kitchen at your disposal, two panoramic terraces with gardens in babylonian style that provide an ideal ambience to relax or to eat a meal. You can meet up with fellow travellers in our common areas or enjoy a drink together at our friendly bar downstairs. You'll find your free city map at the reception and our staff can guide you around on the map. We are well informed about art, history, events and nightlife. We also know the best places to try some Sicilian food specialties in typical non-touristy places. The staff is happy to help you plan your tour of Palermo or the island. We are an international group of receptionists and together we speak English, Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, German and Dutch.

We offer free use of a computer with internet acces and a free Wi-Fi area. There is also the possibility to watch T.V.

The hostel provides single and double beds with or without private bathroom and dorms with 4 sleeping places with shared bathrooms.
All rooms are equipped with bed linen and washbasins. Some rooms have a private balcony.
We also have an indoor car parking!! (€5,-)

this building must have been so nice, but it just looks quite sad now, could be cleaner too. It was VERY loud (I stayed on a Saturday). On the plus side, it is centrally located and ideal for party animals. If, like me, you want to rest before visiting Palermo, avoid it !

  2. Boris From Netherlands On November 30, -0001

Great place for its price. Clean enough and very nice people who run it. They speak Dutch among other languages. Downside is that on Friday and Saturday nights you hear loud nearby clubs.

  3. Karol From Poland On November 30, -0001

Excellent location in the town, which might be a disadvantage during the weekend, but only if you want to sleep. The place is in the centre of fun town, so loud music and noise included.

the hostel is good, it needs some renovation though...but it is very clean and people are great. the only thing is that the hostel is located in a going out street, which is perfect but you hear the music until 3 a.m. in the morning... so bring your earplugs. :)

Having seen the previous reviews on this site in regards of Hotel Firenze, we thought that this hotel was one of the best in Palermo, but it is nothing but a filthy, run down, horrible hostel in one of the most dangerous areas in all of Palermo. All Palermitans I spoke to were amazed and worried for us when we spoke of where we were residing. If you do not want to spoil your holiday in the historical city of Palermo, than do not go to this hotel!

    toooooooooooo noisy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. Adelina From Spain On November 30, -0001

This hotel is in the ceter but is just in the same street of all the pub and bars are so is really noisy. The bathrooms are quite dirty and old but still we really had fun in the great terrace!!

  8. Giovanni From Italy On November 30, -0001

Location in the core of clubs in Palermo. The staff very kind and always available to help guests. Never seen so much kindness.

  9. Jerzy From Poland On November 30, -0001

Hostel in the centrum of Palermo. The rooms have very low standard. Very loud.

  10. Danilo From Portugal On November 30, -0001

  12. Jana From Slovenia On November 30, -0001

Tipical hostel, very loud area. The stuff in trying hard, but the hostel in something really basic.

  13. Mickael From France On November 30, -0001

The hostel is very well located, in the center of the city, 5 minutes away from Teatro Massimo BUT the hostel's street is a bar and pub street, it is very very noisy, don't expect to sleep if you are in a room with a street view.

  14. Andreas From Austria On November 30, -0001

realy nice hostel located in the heart of palermo. styled in a highly enjoyable flair and a beautifull terase i can only recomend this hostel to everybody. Only downside is the sometimes during nighttime noisy street so look that you`ll get a room with windows to the patio.

  15. ALICIA From Spain On November 30, -0001

Firenze is always dirty place for living. Only the best is the place, in the central of the city. So many people in the same room every day is necesary clean every day the rooms and twice the common bathrooms. And the people who is working in the hostel have to be more pleasant.

  16. Martin From Germany On November 30, -0001

nice place, helpfull staff, really nice terrace to meet new friends. a room to the "yard" is much better.

  17. Martina From Italy On November 30, -0001

Staff, location and cleaness are fine, but we were not completely satisfied as we rented a double en-suite room, and the shower in our bathroom lacked of a curtain, as a result everytime we were bathing the bathroom looked like a lake; also in the kitchen there is no cutlery.

  18. daniel From France On November 30, -0001

Nice place. Good situation in Palermo. The staff is very professional.

  19. Elizabeth From USA On November 30, -0001

No where to lock anything up, the staff was not very helpful sometimes, you can only wash clothes at certain hours (but the staff doesn't tell you that until it is too late) and the kitchen and terraces are on the fourth floor where not many people venture up, so meeting people was not as easy as other places. But it is sufficient and I had a good time.

    Good hostel
