Orlando is really funny and a bit creasy. His house is really good located between the old town, Varadero and the Plaza de la Revolución.

    Great place to stay!

Wonderful stay! The owner was very friendly and helpful! The location is great. It is not too far of a walk from old Havana and is very close to the hip University area. It's also a great location because there are no tourists in this area. It provides the expierence of what it is like to live in Cuba as well as being a very safe area. Would reccomend!

Great place to stay. Your host is very friendly and helpful. It is easy to walk to spots in the city from this casa. One thing you need to consider, is that it is not possible to order breakfast

  5. Luisa Christina From Germany On November 30, -0001

very friendly host family, good info and tasty food. there was no problem when we had to stay a little bit longer then expected... the location is not that close to the old town, but on the other hand you can reach other places in the city quite fast by cab, also. we returned after travelling the whole island. if you don`t want to stay in one of the tourist-bubbels, I´d recommend.

Casa Goicochea was a very nice place to stay. It was located near a main road which leads you quickly to the city center. We slept twice at casa Goicochea and both rooms were spacious, clean and the beds were good. Furthermore Rolando was very friendly, helpful and speaks good English for Cuban standards.

If it's just a cheap place to stay then great.theres nothing to do in this part of the city. So a walk or taxi is always needed.there is No INTERNET AND WILL NEVER BE ANY. 5 year

Bathrooms floor needs cleaning. Broken springs in mattress stick in your body. Under the pretence of helping us, the owner accompanies us to restaurants, order for us, and orders a drink for himself at out expense without asking us. He also was insisting that we buy cigars from him which I believe to be fake.

We stayed in Casa Goichochea during our six-weeks Cuba-trip for around 1,5 weeks. It is rather simple, but clean, safe, well located and very fairly priced. The owner Rolando and his family are very friendly and helpful. Rolando speaks English well and gives good advice on everything from the best spots in Havanna to casas in other cities.

Was so delighted to Stay at Orlando´s house and want to thank him for his hospitality. The room was very clean and (huge bonus) had a little kitchenette so we could cook our own (basic) food if we wanted. We actually came back on our second visit to Havana but he was fully booked - instead he called everyone he knew trying to find us a room and then walked the streets with us until he found us somewhere - a really lovely guy - thank you so much for having us. A good 15 minute from the centre but you get to stay in the residential Havana and its incredibly peaceful and you get a real taste of what it is like to live there.

La casa es excelente y la família es muy amable. Nos ayudaran mucho con consejos sobre que hacer en Habana. La habitación y el baño son limpios. Todo muy bueno.

Location is good if you want to experience Havana as locals do. Very loud and noisy neighbors- loud TV till 11pm, old lady next door yells in the middle of the night, child next door crying all night long, windows have no sound isolation - all this lead to a very poor sleep. It was clean enough but not clean 100% as we experienced in other casas all over Cuba. It is worse than it looks in the pictures. Ronaldo was nice but he gave us no tips and he was drunk on the night we checked in, they dont offer breakfast or dinner.I would not recommend staying there.

The house is very old but fine and the room was quite clean. The price is very cheap, but the main drawback of the house is its location: a good 25 minutes walk to the Havana Vieja. However, a good option if you're on a budget

  14. Hugo Jean-Paul From Peru On November 30, -0001

Excellent place to stay. Altough the toilets could be a little bit more clean everything else is absolutely perfect. The host is just a great guy that will help you in all cases...

Best place we stayed at in Cuba! Very calm and nice area (even though you can of course get more close to central havana). Owner Rolando is by far the most helpful and friendly person we met in all Cuba, he helped us with all we could possibly need, from getting a cheap taxi to the door to get us a good place to stay the last night when we got back from Trinidad and he was fully booked. And he also speaks english much better than most Cubans we met.

  16. Geoffrey From England On November 30, -0001

Very basic but very friendly and adequate for a couple of well travelled passers by. I do recommend if you need a place to crash that cheap and freidnly. Easy walking distance to anything you require.

I can't really rate this casa because we never stayed there. Rorlando took us to a friend's place because he had no room for us despite making the reservation for us. The friend, who Rorlando referred to as his "sister," was very nice and we liked her place.

if you want to get to the real cuba, you`re right here. The owner Rolando got my friend, and helps in any case.I enjoyed the days at his house.

  19. Sarah From Australia On November 30, -0001

Clean and friendly. Not too far to walk into the old town, but does not offer breakfast or dinner which would make it a better choice.

Some problems with english, but the master and his familly were wery kind and trying to help us in different cases. Good price for center Habana.
