This hostel has improved a very great deal since 2009. The old wooden floors, that could not be kept clean, have been covered with tiles. The bed and linen have improved a lot from the single sheet on a grubby mattress with bedbugs that there used to be. Ensuite shower and toilet is clean and modern. Even the breakfast is better ! A few hooks in the bedroom would help, but as I left more shelves were being varnished prior to installation. The one drawback on this visit was that Internet Explorer on the computer wasn't working and remained out of action throughout the stay.

The hostel did not liv op to the details on the website. we were very disappointed as a family. the manager was flexible and we left after two days. the toilet was inside the room without a door only a curtain. the a/c was working and beds were ok. no cafeteria as the website shows. they kept up their word and we were picked up at the airport.

We had never seen such a place.Subhuman conditions.Owner /Ramadan/is a crook. You should consider taking this place off your site. Its make you look bad and not trustworthy.

Pension Vienna is ideally located for sightseeing around Cairo. It is within walking distance to the Egyptian Museum which is a must-see on any Egyptian itinerary. The staff are very friendly and helpful whether it be for advice or suggested tours. They are able to arrange sightseeing around the Cairo area including to the Pyramids of Giza with one of their drivers and can also organise trips further afield. The rooms are clean, spacious and well-priced. Will visit again.

I am a photographer who is in Cairo about once every two months for extended stays. I have stayed in many places since I started coming here, and have found Pension Vienna to be the best - clean, highly convenient, no hassle from the staff, and for a really good price. I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone looking decent budget accomodation in Cairo, and it is now my hotel of choice in that city.

It was very friendly the transfer from the Cairo Airport. Thanks for the waiting there. They organised the taxi to Gisa, Saqqara, Dahsur, Memphis. The driver was helpful.
