Ovabuk is one of Datca’s magnificent, calm bays. The only holiday places available are the little guest-houses used by the Turks themselves. This helps preserve the beauty of the village. Melinda is a small guest-house with a nice garden that matches the unpretentious village atmosphere. Everyone chips in with the work, even the daughters of the house. Mr Oral catches the fish, Mrs Sergul bakes lovely crusty bread in the stone oven out back, and the girls take the reservations. The rooms are small and simple but the sea is a mere three steps away. Home-grown vegetables are a bonus.
