As indicated above, I cannot say enough about Old Jaffa Hostel, Tel Aviv. Atmosphere, customer service and appreciation, knowledgeable of area, great with suggestions, and, recognition of you when you return, thus making you feel at home. The dormitories were very secure, and all the people I ran into were very friendly, courteous, and a joy to be with. It was equally exciting to be able to enjoy the "roof", be in the "flea market area", and, oh, the shores of the Mediterranean, just a few feet away. The sunrises, the sunsets, the convenience near grocery stories, and, shops. The ease getting back to the Hostel, after going places. The day tours from the Hostel. Well, I will stay there again, for sure. Great rates!!!! Like being in college again, and, all the areas at night with good music on the streets! This is also the comment for the stay at the beginning of my journey. Satira Quarles

Good hostel - setting in Old Jaffa is both an advantage (v cute part of the world) but also a disadvantage (getting to/from airport at awkward times is obv much harder than from the middle of TLV). Roof lovely, lends to sociability. Staff fine tho not particularly helpful (some in Israel have been amazing!), dorm ok, facilities not bad.

great location in a nice area, a bit out of center (walk on the beach to the center), clean, hot water, nice rooms with balkony, roof-terasse is amazing, openair-kitchen, sleeping under the stars- flair. I was there and I went back there, too. Great stay. I recommand it.

cool + cute hostel, well managed; well situated in thrifty multicultural neighboorhood that is on its way to become a trendy place. Good value for money

I particularly enjoyed that fact that I was allowed to relax on the top floor even after I checked out. Hostels in the US wouldn't let me do that. Great experience. Among the top two hostels I've stayed at!

This is by far the best Hostel i've been to so far. You feel immediately @ home, the roof terrace is AMAZING, sleeping under the stars is already an adventure on its own!!! I'll be returning there asap. I fell in love with Israel, its people, a beautiful Israeli girl and as you can guess already: The Old Jaffa Hostel :)

Hostal and Prive/Value are OK, sometime it can be a bit confusing to get a room, even with a reservation. sitting 30 minutes in the lobby will solve the problem - sometimes.

Dorms are very basic. No protection from falling on the upper bed! I interacted with two staff: one very helpful and one grumpy. Internet is available only when reception is open. Location is OK.

I like this hostel and some of the staff are very pleasant, although not all. I can't help thinking that the Independent's 'best 50 budget hotels' listing is over-rating it a bit though - the showers are not much fun to use, and the ladies' dorms are cramped and noisy, with thin mattresses. The building itself is gorgeous and the location is great for the seafront, Abu Elafia's etc, but the market, while picturesque, does get pretty noisy first thing.

Great people; good position: in flea Market in Jaffa and a long walk (via the beach) or short bus ride from Tel Aviv. Be warned, building is triangular and has no sign on two of its three sides, so you can walk around it without realizing. Breakfast is minimal, but free - and the staff are terrific; you can ask them anything, and they know the ropes. The view from the roof is great: don't dismiss the bungalows for relatively cheap accommodation if you're sick of dorms. I've re-booked here, even though it is not actually in Tel Aviv. Jaffa has thousands of years of history and character. Don't miss the free 9 AM Wednesday morning tour from the clock tower.

Excellent place with a lot of atmosphere. Really loved it. Multi national and multi cultural.
