Info & Description

We are the only REAL hostel in Glasgow! Communal living at its finest! Our hostel has the best locations in the city. Clyde Hostel (former Bluesky Hostel) is just meters from the Glasgow School of art, Kelvin grove museum/park and drunken debauchery of Sauchihall street! Just 15 minute walk from the train/bus stations or 1 stop on the underground train.
We have just installed a 10 person hot tub/ jacussi. A great way to warm up on a cold evening.

If you are a backpacker who wants to meet fellow backpackers and make new friends, you are very welcome here. We are always looking for fun loving people to join our team. If you are interested contact the hostel.

Please make sure you know the difference between a HOSTEL and a HOTEL before you make your booking.
We are not a B&B looking to cash in on the hostel market. We are not a 100 room Hotel with bunk beds pretending to be a hostel. Everything is shared here and facilities are used by everyone. Hosteling is about spending less and doing more.

There are at least 50 pubs, clubs and restaurants within a 5 minute walk from the hostel and great for backpackers, Scottish tourists and fun seekers looking for budget priced BACPACKERS hostel accommodation in Scotland.

A comment for the people who book a 14 bed dorm for £10 and then leave a 30% rating.
You thought it was messy, no atmosphere, facilities or safety???? Are you freaking serious???

Hey big spender! You booked the cheapest bed in the city. What did you expect in a room with 14 beds?
No atmosphere? Why can’t you log off Facebook for 10 minutes and strike up a conversation in a room with 13 other people? I dont think you can blame us for that one mate...
Safety? Locks on every door, security cameras, 24 hour staff and a 50kg dog are not enough for you? Maybe we need to provide big fluffy security blankets?
Facilities? We provide Free computers, free WiFi,vending machine, microwave, kitchen, coin laundry machine, free lockers, free towels and bed sheets. Again, are we forgetting something for £10?? Whoops, i forgot to get the chocolate pillow mints, my bad..

The Hostel is central located, I stayed only over the weekend and mostly sleep there only. I had a double room, which was nice and clean, however, they have good communal space with kitchen, free tea and coffee. I would recommend this hostel to every easy going people, if you expect new/ fancy decorations or stuff its a wrong address. Super thanks to friendly and helpfull stuff!

Nice hostel with sympathic staff. Price was good, but theres still much space for improvement for the bathroom facilities. The lockers could be renewed as well.

A very bad by cheap hostel

  7. Bruno From Portugal On November 30, -0001

The reception area and the kitchen was nice but the room was to small for 10 people, we literally have to breathe the air of the other persons, the room also was not much clean, they don´t have plug to charge your phone, you need to do it in the reception area. The toilets could be more clean and well arranged. The staff wasn´t neither good or bad, excpet the lady that do the checkout, she was really nice with us.

It's not bad for the price and its very centrally located. Only about 20 minutes from the center of town. But it seriously lacks in outlets and bathroom number. Also the upstairs bathroom and the second building loungue were quite gross actually.

    - Price was 3 ponds more even showing the email reservation - wall plugts not working in room (all of them) - was not possible turn off the heating - Staff totaly unprepared

We decided to book direct to save some money for us and it out 3Rd party cost so the hostel got all profit. Never again was forced to pay the deposit in euros which resulted in fined from my bank and when we got there our remaining balance was more than we had been told. In all cost almost 10 pounds more than stated when I made the reservation. Not impressed at all

Very friendly and confortable reception and common area. Well equiped, with possibility to have coffee, tea and others for free. Good internet too. Kitchen well equiped plus confy and still quiet dormitory. A very good place for cheap wallets

Had a faulty socket in my room which has not been fixed yet. Waiting till electrician visits, no one knows when.

Over all the bluesy hostel was very nice and had a welcoming feel to it, I did genuinely enjoy my stay. The only issue I had with it came really in the booking process it's self, when we arrived we were shocked to find a 20% vat was added to what we had to pay on arrival, now I did check and it does mention it on the booking form but it doesn't tell you how much it is going to add to the over all price. Because the vat also doesn't show up on the booking confirmation email we planned around the amount we were told we would have to pay on arrival, when we had to pay more it threw off our finances for the whole trip. I think that if there is a vat like that in the future it should be included so that guests know what they have to pay on arival.

This hostel couldn't be in a better location. Close to the coffee shops in Finnieston, as well as Kelvingrove Park and a nice walk from the Botanical Garden. Beds were a little squeaky, but for the price / night, it was an unmatchable value.

Great price, great location, great experience. I would recommend this place to all travellers seeking fun inexpensive accommodation

We didn't have high hopes for staying at a hostel; they're not known generally for luxury or comfort, but we chose to stay here to have the opportunity to get to know a few other people on our travels and have a place we could party at during the weekend we were staying. When we checked in, we were surprised by an extra fee on top of what was quoted in our e-mail. They told us it was VAT, but it seems weird that this was the only place where VAT isn't included in the price. They say they're a party hostel, but on a Saturday night (11pm-12amish) there were people curled up in the common room watching movies with headphones in. We three were the only ones drinking, and felt like we'd disturb the others if we were too loud. But that's okay, we managed to make conversation with one other person. The floor of our room was disgusting, like no one had vacuumed it in a long time. There was some sort of animal hair covering the whole floor and it was worked pretty deep into the carpet. The bed and pillows were what you'd expect in a hostel: squeaky and uncomfortable.

    - an extra fee of £30 at arrival. We were told that's normal but it's nicer if you know that in advance! - 2 people have to share a 1,40m bed? Really? We didn't complain right away cause luckily we arrived with one person less than we've booked for and the guy who checked us in was very nice but also seemed to be totally helpless - kitchen? Horrible. It's a hostel, it's cheap, we didn't care too much about that mess as we prefer to go out for food anyway. But if you're sensitive when it comes to cleanliness this is not the place for you. If you just need a cheap bed close to the city centre go for it. But make sure every person you pay for gets their own bed and the price you pay is the same you got on you booking confirmation

Cheap and basic, comfy (but creaky) beds, friendly staff, free tea and coffee and a hot tub!
