Info & Description

The Downtown forest hostel and camping (ex. Paupio namai) is located down the hill the city center, in the artistic part of Vilnius called Užupis. Walking down, the spirit goes up because of the rustic and warm neighborhoods around. Main tourist spots are within a slow-walk distance: city hall (7 min), cathedral (10min), bus & train station (15 min). Plenty of green areas around: newly opened park (5min) , river and ponds (1min). And of course republic of Užupis just meters away.

The hostel has private rooms (single, double triple and family rooms) and dorms (from 3 to 6 beds per room).
Bathrooms can be private or shared, please check the room you are booking.

The main thing about us - this is a quiet place for a relaxing stay. There is no way we can compete with up-beat atmosphere with the best pubs and clubs – therefore, we don’t throw lame parties, we recommend good places. The ones locals love. However, for a calm evening everything is in a place – fireplace, bar, music. You can bring your wine or beer or snacks as long as it is ok with the rest.

Big house is surrounded by trees and a garden. We haven’t checked it yet, but those trees could be considered to be a forest, a small one at least. So space and nature is what we have plenty of everywhere. Be sure, the rooms are not overcrowded. Plenty of free parking space within the territory, neat and well equipped kitchen. Two beautiful women are cleaning everything daily. That is a smaller part of local vibe.

We all are passionate about traveling and about our city. Just ask and we will advise you what to see and do, just what we would like someone to advise us, when we are traveling.

The staff was very nice and polite. The hostel was good enough, but it was rather noisy to live next to the kitchen))

  7. Grazyna From Poland On November 30, -0001

Perfect: nice service, well equipped kitchen, and great place. A bit hard to find at first, but then-quiet and peaceful, but very close to the city centre.

It is not located in the Old Town, but it is on a bus route from the airport and the bus and train stations. It is very quiet. The building and furnishings are in good shape. The administrator was extremely helpful to me with information and meeting my needs.

  10. MUZAFFER From Turkey On November 30, -0001

I think a hostel which is more close to the center would be a better choice. And I must say the hotel was empty when I got there and therefore all parts of the hotel was not really warm enough

  11. Sih-Ying From Taiwan On November 30, -0001

This hostel is not that far away from the old town. But it is quite hard to meet other travellers here. Besides, it is quite cold in the room when we were here. And the wi-fi is very weak singal and slow.

    Great place for great price.

  13. Paulo From Portugal On November 30, -0001

I liked the hostel although my room didn't have windows... but I can't complain about that cause I got the room with a very price!!!! The rest was ok.

  14. Bruce From USA On November 30, -0001

    very cozy place!

  15. Anna From Poland On November 30, -0001

Very good located hostel, within walking distance to the Old Town. Quiet and separated from noice of city. Excellent place to rest after the whole day of walking around the town. Well equiped kitchen lets you enjoy the breakfast prepered by yourself. If you wish you can order breakfast. We recommend it. Reasonable price.

Nice place in summer. I enjoy sitting in the garden knowing that the busy city is only around a corner. But you can't do that during winter and there is very little room inside. The kitchen has only one table to enjoy meal or breakfast. The rooms are reasonable but the toilets were too busy to stay clean. Perhaps there should be more of them and for women and men separately? There were clear smell of urine in the bathroom. Somebody did'n bother to queue for toilet? I could come again but I'll surely take a shower before and after the visit

  17. Leonardo From Portugal On November 30, -0001

Everything went smoothly. I liked the fact of being able to walk to the centre.
