Info & Description

Brand new hotel in a perfect position: only 150 meters away from the main central Venice railway station (Santa Lucia). Rooms are very bright and lie on 4 floors (no lift), but we just opened three new rooms on the ground floor (only 5 stairsteps) for people who have some problems in moving upstairs (this three rooms have bathroom ensuite). They are all very well equipped and our guest can choose between rooms with bathroom ensuite (with hairdryer), and rooms with sharing bathroom on the floor (cheaper). Anyhow, every room has tv color (we are also buying a new satellite), airconditioning/heating, telephone (with the possibility to call outside), alarm service, selfcare stuffs, balcony with flowers on reguest (view on a typical venecian Calle). We also installed a wireless lan system which is currenlty not yet activated, but that will become a value added service starting from June 2005). Our breakfast room has been opened on May the 12th, and it's also a wonderful living room with a small bar which works all day long. Breakfast included in price.

Too cold in the room. Problems with hot water in the shower. Good price (breakfast incl.). Good place (near railway and bus stations)

  2. Felipe From Brazil On March 6, 2012

Nice hostel with room well decorated and clean, but quite small for 4 people (a double bed and 2 single beds in a really small area) and with some problems with noise isolation (we could hear a lot of noise from the corridor - people talking, passing, going to the bathroom). Shared bathroom but really nice and clean. The hostel seemed to be in final phase of a makeover and our floor wasnt yet done. Great breakfast and staff really kind. No elevator (our room was in the 3rd or 4th floor). Really well located and in a calm street.

Agli Artisti is a no-frills hostel located at the very entrance of the Venice island. The the low price and strategic location make this the perfect base camp for you to explore what the city has to offer. It's also right by a water bus stop making it easily accessible from the airport (just take the Alilaguna Orange Line to the Ferrovia stop). We stayed in a 2-bed private room, which was tiny. Just enough room for the beds (which were pushed together, and may as well have been one big bed), a sink, a closet, and a few small tables. Our room had a balcony which was great, though the view was not too interesting (facing another builiding in a small alleyway). There was no "common room" or meeting point for fellow hostelers so it's not a very social place. However, we went out at night and easily found a group of travelers who were staying at the more social Absolut hostel. The rooms were clean and our linens were changed daily. No complaints here. Breakfast was pretty basic but adequate - croissants (really tasty), cereal, and yogurt. I loved the freshly squeezed grapefruit juice. In sum, I'd say Agli Artisti is a great place to rest your head. It's cheap and has an awesome location, but that's about it.

Great Hostel, really close to the rail station , you can start to enjoy Venice the day you arrive. The hostel is perfectly clean and the room is beautiful. Last but not least, the breakfast is perfect: hot croissant, nutella, home made yoghourt and café on demand. Nothing to complain !!

The hostel locates near the railway station while it is easier to go to all the place of Venice. It is quiet, clean also with friendly staff. The only thing which is not quite well is internet service is not quite good, but it does not affect our tripe in venice. It is really a good chioce if you decide to go to venice.

The sound insulation of room was not good. It was a little cold during midnight.

  12. EMILY From England On January 12, 2008

After arriving tired and hot at the hotel we were a little distressed to discover that we had to carry our heavy suitcases up three flights of stairs - no lift available! That said, the hotel was clean and comfortable - our room was small but adequate and we were glad of the efficient air conditioning! Breakfast was served in a small area and was somewhat limited dependant on your getting up time! However, hot drinks, cereals, yoghurt and some form of bread were always available - get up early for pastries! Bathrooms were clean and spacious and there was an adequate number on each floor given the number of bedrooms for guests. Very well located close to the station and Ponte Scalzi. Recommended!

We find the location of the hotel as ideal as it is just a few minutes away from the train station and near major water bus stops, cafe's,restaurants, shops and a church. The staff was very friendly and attended immediately to the customer's needs. Our room (double private) was lovely with a terrace(though we ddnt enjoy much of it as it is winter). Breakfast was good, and true to other reviews, their coffee (cappucino) is highly recommendable :)

We were moved to another hotel,in Allogi agli artisti there was a problem with electricity.it was not so bad, because it was near to the hotel that we have booked

  15. Johnna From USA On January 11, 2007

Very close to train station (which is only a bus/ferry ride from most everything you would want to see). Found a fingernail clipping on bedspread... Gross. Bathroom was very nice and looked newly renovated.

Best location. Biggest rooms and fantastic staff made this hotel a winner that I will be recommending to everybody who is going to Venice. 3 girls arriving late arvo after a long day on the train across Italy and too be able to walk straight out of the station and be at the hotel within 5minutes and presented with a brand new triple share room was just what we needed! The room was 3 times the size of any other we stayed in throughout Europe. The whole city is within walking distance if that how you want to experience Venice and the public transport is conveniently located, whether its train, bus or ferry. Its even easy to get to the airport - just cross the bridge and head right, towards the Piazzale Roma where you can catch the bus (much cheaper than water taxi). This area is always busy and there are heaps of great places to eat nearby.

We loved this hostel. Location is great, right by train station and many shops and restaurants. Very clean and very cute. One of the best hostels we stayed in, if you don't mind stairs!

This Hostels is right at the railstation (Ferrovia) and the Vaporetto-Station(Venitian Boats. So you can get everywhere really good. I Don´t know, what to write about the categorie "Fun", because I just slept in the hostel and stayed the whole day in venice or at the lido. But it´s really okay for a visit in Venice: not expensive, good location, breakfast included. Next time in Venice I will stay there again.

  19. Dieter From Germany On June 27, 2005

Good location in calm side street. Good place for a family. Optimal price/performance rate. We would book the hostel any time in the future again.

this hotel gave me a very good impression of venezia.i was struck by the friendliness and hospitality of the staff and their kindness.the hotel is also at a strategic location, which is near cheap areas to eat,to buy souvenirs and everything is within walking distance.from outside, the hotel may not be as impressive but never judge a book by its cover:) i definitely recommend this hotel for other visitors to venezia and to low budget students, this hotel is one of the cheapest and nicest! grazie, alloggi agli artisti!bravo!:P
