Info & Description

M&J Place is a nice Hostel in Rome, you can start the day with a hearty breakfast (3€ to have a breakfast with Capuccino, Croissant and Fruit Juice)! Then check your emails thanks to the free wifi and go out bringing with you a free map of Rome, or, if you want to see and know everything about Rome, join one of the tours bookable at the reception. Back in the hostel there is bar at the ground floor with excellent pizzas and pastas, great to start to socialize! ;)

At M&J Place hostel you can find the best value for money for your stay in Rome, thanks to the many services and excellent common areas. You can choose to book a comfortable private room with the quality of a hotel (satellite TV, computer with Internet access, air conditioning, safety deposit box) and hostel like prices. Or for those looking for a lowcost accommodation there are shared dorms, always clean and spacious (bed linen not included, 3€ per person).

M and J Place has an extensive experience in the lowcost hostel industry and it pampers its guests with excellent facilities. It is no coincidence that the staff of the hostel itself is composed by travelers who know all travelers' needs. You'll find so many common areas where to socialize, a common kitchen open from 3 pm to 10 pm, a bar-restaurant on the ground floor, wi-fi and PC workstations, as well as free maps of Rome and a desk to book tours and activities.

So you need a hostel in Rome, but the Eternal City is huge...be careful to choose a comfortable and enjoyable location to visit the city! M&J Hostel is situated a short walk from the Baths of Diocletian, with 3 metro stations nearby (Repubblica, Termini and Castro Pretorio). If you arrive in Rome by plane you can just take the bus to the Termini station and from there the hostel can be reached on foot in a few minutes. And in the area you will find everything you need: restaurants, bars & shops.

M&J Place is not one of the many hostels in Rome, you can understand this by many things: by the professionalism and friendliness of the staff, always super friendly. Facilities are excellent, with hotel quality and hostel prices. There are many common areas to socialize with other backpackers (kitchen, ristobar, internet point, etc.). This place is special and is waiting for you, for a lowcost and unforgettable holiday in Rome.

    Good location for tourists......

  4. Nicholas From Ireland On November 30, -0001

Dirty, smelly and noisy. The photos must have been taken years ago. The cost was for 19euro they charged me 30. Terrible place!

  5. Mr r From England On November 30, -0001

Hi, I been there early morning. One beard guy was asking me 23.30 on total. I showed him your reservation copy. He said you booked with third party and whatever the third party does explain everything all the time. And he was a bit rude and complicated. I left the hostel at that moment. I did not stay at that hostel. You should not recommend to anybody a place like that.

  6. Kyane From Tunisia On November 30, -0001

It was not the best hostel ever... but so cheap!

  7. VANESSA From Italy On November 30, -0001

This place is zero. The staff, the price and the cleaning. It was not possible to use the shower inside the room, there were spots on the room's walls, there was a lady who was more than 70 years old, there were bedbugs in the bed. A place to avoid!

  8. Fabio From Italy On November 30, -0001

Stayed here just one night,so all I can say is: A) helpful and friendly staff B) amazing position near Termini station C) clean and polished rooms D) 24h reception!

So I've been traveling Europe for 3 months now and this has been the worst hostel I've been to. They try to charge you for every little thing that normally you'd never get charged for, such as €3 for bed linens? Worst part was the Indian (I believe) female who was at the front desk. Treated me with tremendous disrespect. Terrible people skills and to make things worse, she tried to tell me, "why are you upset over paying for bed linens when you have an iPhone?" Really!?Absolutely terrible! No senses of professionalism whatsoever! I felt as if I was speaking to a child. Some of the other staff were great though. No wifi in rooms. No soap, shampoo, towels. Basically you have to pay extra for everything! Such a deceiving hostel trying to make a buck or two of people in deceiving ways. Don't go there. Many better options in Rome.

The M & J staffs are cool (especially the Italian-Spanish guy is super cool man!!) to deal with the situation. The hostel is close to the train station which makes easy to each early train, bus during rush hours. Despite low cost, the hostel doesn't have heating system in the room & the blankets provided are really thin during cold periods and a bit noisy due to sound of the moving vehicles. The breakfast recommended wasn't too bad !!!

nice localization, nice staff i recommend.

Electronic keycard lock on our room door was broken and a constant issue for all who stayed in the room. VERY high turn over of backpackers, we stayed for 3 nights and often found the people who stayed in the room that night weren't always the same people in the morning...it was actually pretty weird. Wifi only works in reception. Cleaning staff were great - worked day and night it seemed - building is old, but it was clean. Reception staff less impressive..except the only female. She was honest about Rome and respectful, didn't feel treated like a gullible tourist - which we aren't. Pleased to leave.

We stayed in M&J Hostel for New Year's Eve in a 4-bed shared room with private bath. The room was very "minimal", but clean and nice. It faced the back courtyard so it was also quiet. M&J position is the best, especially if you are in Rome just for a short time. The staff is kind but not as "professional" as we experienced in other European hostels (We received an e-mail one day before our arrival with incorrect reservation data and we had to phone the hostel). Breakfast is not included and costs 2.5 Euros, but it's good.

  17. Karan From Sweden On November 30, -0001

Rude staff. Internet only works in the common room/lobby. Beds (at least in a 4 bed dorm) are terribly uncomfortable and while trying to climb the top bunk the whole bed structure makes a really annoying sound, possibly waking your roommates in awkward situations.

    Ciaooo Mariooo

  19. Mario From Italy On November 30, -0001

A great place to stay, near the Station Termini. Great Bar. Free internet and Friendly staff. For sure I will return there. The bathrooms in the room are super clean and comfortable.
