Thank's very much for everything ! I will definitely recomend your hostel to my friends ! The staff was very friendly and helpful, they made sure we don't miss anything. The hostel was just amazing located in an beautiful old building in the center of Budapest, everything is walking distance, very clean big room with nice kitchen and bathroom.

Fun place, facilities are OK, but a bit annoying with the reception just outside our bedroom door. Nobody there at nighttime though

You will not find a better located hostel in Budapest 5 mins from vaci utca and 5 mins from the old town square vorosmarty. Ok the hostel is not easy to find due to a pretty small sign but it is worth the search. The beds were comfortable xcept for the continental pillows but its a pretty small complaint, 1 word of warning just phone the hostel in advance to organise key pick up as the reception is not 24 hours and the hostel is in two buildings near each other close to the main street. But for me its location location location and would go back!

Best: localization Bad: very very dirty. Kitchen useless. Very noisy from 8:00 a.m. Workers had to repair things in the room during our stay and Owner don´t advice to us and do not look for solutions about. Recommended poorly

Staff were excellent at pointing out the good places to eat, best streets for shopping, best things to see etc. Very friendly and welcoming. The apartment was brilliant, in an excellent location and lovely people staying there! Will only say, ring the check in number as soon as you arrive in budapest as can take longer for them to get to the meeting point than you.

Hi, I would like to say that ir was a fake reservation. I've been there, on the correct address but there was only a number to call. I had to be waiting about 10 minutes and suddenly one man appear saying that there wasn't more space and I had to go to other place with him, in his car. For sure I didn't go with him. I'm so disappointed about this, waist my time looking for another place (everything was full) and have to pat much more for a hotel. Because of this I would like to receive my reservation money back. Hope you take off this hostel of the list and could refund me. Thanks, waiting an reply Alan Costa

This place is basically like having your own appartment. It is a great place, and I thoroughly reccommend it. The staff couldn't be more helpful! Excellent apartment in every sense of the word. Superb location, friendly staff and perfect acommodation. This was by far the best apartment I have ever been to. A very refreshing and nice suprise. A small amount of money could be spent on the apartment to make it more comfortable. The bed sheets were nylon and so sweaty!!! The room had alot of rustic charm, abit like being in your nans old caravan! Brilliant location. Would stay again but prefer cotton bed sheets! The bathroom was tiny but in all good value for the money

Dirty, dirty, dirty!!! Bathroom, kitchen and rooms horrible, not cleaned. No changed bedding! During the night owner bring a new guests whithout any information. We were obliged to use kitchen and bathroom with some strengers people (we didn't know about this during reservation).

It's in the center, near basilica. Ther isn't park place, but during the weekend you can park in the street in front of building for free. You can even cook there, but ther is no pot or pan...

Got a private room, which are not inside the main hostel but somewhere all around Budapest. Private room was in an ok state and an ok area with metro round the corner.

Very nice porch, with an excellent view to a cat that always started sharpening its claws whenever it spotted a bird in the backyard, but always failed to catch said bird. We would definitely, absolutely, stay there again next time we're in Budapest, and we plan to do so as soon as we can afford another trip there.

Excellent staff, great location. The best hostel I've ever stayed in in its price range. Our flight was horribly messed up by the carrier, but they were so prompt that I could arrange for an extra night on short notice from the airport before arrival in Budapest. No breakfast every day, and a chance to talk to people from all over the world in the shared lounge if you're the sociable kind ;-). Instead there is great privacy. Our return flight reservation got obviously mixed up again, but the staff were extremely helpful in calling the carrier office in Budapest and sorting it out with them in hungarian while butchering the pronounciacion of our english names. . We would definitely, absolutely, stay there again next time we're in Budapest, and we plan to do so as soon as we can afford another trip there.

The hostel was just amazing located in an beautiful old building in the center of Budapest, everything is walking distance, very clean big room with nice kitchen and bathroom. Probably the best hostel I have ever been to ! The owners were extremely helpful; they helped us book our tours and made us feel at home. The hostel was very clean and comfortable. Nice location, as it was quiet and a quick easy walk to every part of the centre of the city. We will definitely return there on our next trip to Budapest.

*** BE AWARE *** Cheap for a (very good) reason. Although the person that owns it is really friendly, I have to fair and warn people.. I was transferred to another hostel owned by the same guy, in Vaci Utsa 46. I had to wait for the guy for 20 minutes in the cold, as Basilica was empty and shut down. In actuality, none of them are hostels. They are normal flats used as hostels. Beds are dirty, linen were full of hair. Room and furniture were ok, I had a whole flat on my own, due to the off-season period I travelled. However I developed a hypothermia in only 2 days, as the flat was absolutely freezing with no heating!!! Outside temperature -1 to -4 at nights. I had been sleeping fully clothed, however still very VERY cold. I was given a 700W electric heater (equivalent to 7 light bulbs!!) that was totally unable to warm up any room. Now my room had a high ceiling so practically I had no heating. I kept leaving the lights on to warm up the place, but when I returned in the evening, the lights were off and the heater was turned down to half-power. As I was told you can find fantastic hostels with 10euros. I would NEVER go to this hostel again. Be warned.

I've stayed in over 20 hostels around Europe, and this is by far the best. Attention to detail and an obvious understanding on what travellers need is apparenty at Basilica. Amazing place to stay - hope to visit again soon!

We stayed in two hostel and this was the better. You should call the staff when you reach Budapest. Location is very central. Very friendly place. Best to book private ensuite. We had key and we can come and go whenever we wanted.

The hostel is Super. Budapest is very big 2 millions people living there. I travelled 2 hours from the airport, you can travel 50 km from one side to the other. The hostel is in very central position near the big catedral Basilica. I phoned the staff from airport and informed them when I arrived. They gave me an excellent apartment in the price of the hostel. 40-50 euro for a day is very cheap here, the hotels costs 2-500 euro. The location of the other building was excellent the main walking shopping street. Very clean with kitchen and bathroom, very save. Security is important, because Budapest like other big cities Rome, Paris, London, not so save, lot of burglaries. The night is save, you can walk on the street in the center.
