Zitouna Mosque in Tunis' Medina district, a World Heritage Site, is Tunisia's largest mosque. Built in the 9th century, the exterior galleries have high arches held up by slim columns and face stalls selling books, dried fruit, perfume and cloth.
Zitouna Mosque translates into the 'mosque of the olive tree'.
