    Aarhus:

Aarhus' Women's Museum presents art, objects, photos and knowledge that document and record the developments in the lives and work of Danish women. The museum offers a fascinating insight into the social and political emancipation of women.

The museum started as a grassroots part of the new women's movement, opening to the public in 1984 in the town's former police station. In the early 1990s the building was fully renovated and the Mathilde Fibiger Garden was laid out next to it as a public square.

Please note: the museum is closed on Mondays in winter.
