    Strasbourg:

Alongside the impressive permanent collection, the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art also holds temporary exhibitions throughout the year. The architecturally striking building is one of Strasbourg's most popular tourist destinations. Monet, Picasso, Arp and Sarkis are all represented among others.

The museum was opened in 1998, on the brow of a low hill on the banks of the River Ill. Visible from the picturesque Petite France area of the city, it is another example of why Strasbourg is an increasingly popular cultural destination. A sculpted horse stands proudly in front of the glass edifice, as if guarding the treasures that lie inside.

Chronologically detailing the artistic movements from Impressionism until the present day, the museum features paintings, photographs, installations and sculptures from a number of household names.
