It's not everywhere you can see pure gold being poured as it has been for hundreds of years. At The Perth Mint, one of the world's oldest and still producing coins and memorial medals, you can do just that.
The Perth Mint opened in 1899 and is home to Australia's largest collection of natural gold nuggets. Visitors can see precious metal coins and medallions being struck on massive presses, have a medallion engraved with their own message and even strike their own coin. Gold nuggets, coins, jewellery and other gold-themed gifts are sold in The Perth Mint shop.
