    Reykjavik:

Built between 1906 and 1908, The Culture House in Reykjavík is home to temporary and permanent exhibitions tracing the country's history and heritage. With exhibitions dedicated to literature, politics, movies and nature it's Iceland in a nutshell.

The museum was originally built to house The National Library and The National Archives. The National Museum and The Museum of National History were also housed there for a time. Now the centre hosts major exhibitions that retrace the country's distant and recent past, with focus placed on Iceland's Viking heritage, the spread of Christianity and other developments that helped shape modern-day Iceland.

There is also a restaurant/cafe at The Culture House to help replenish your energy levels after delving into Iceland's Viking past.
