    Perth:

The Bell Tower, a rocket-like structure designed by William Hames, adds a futuristic edge to Perth's skyline. It houses 12 of the 18 Swan Bells that used to hang in the belfry of St Martin-in-the-Fields in London's Trafalgar Square.

Dating back to the 14th century, these are the very bells that rang out on Captain Cook's return to Britain after his landfall in Australia in 1771. Presented to Western Australia during the country's bicentenary in 1988, when they were joined by five new bells, a further bell was added for the millennium, and they are still all rung by human hands! Climb up to The Bell Tower's viewing platforms for excellent views.
