    Memphis:

Tiny Sun Studio played a giant role in rock 'n' roll, recording legends like Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins. Located near Forrest Park, Sun Studio offers tours and sells the music made famous in Memphis.

Established by Sam Phillips in 1950, Sun Studio recorded the first real rock n' roll song (with Ike Turner on the piano), but then discovered Elvis Presley. The rest, as they say, is history.

Outgrowing its building by the end of the 1950s, the studio remained dormant for a quarter-of-a-century until 1985 when the Class of 55 (Elvis excepted) came back to record an album of that name. The restored studio became a Mecca for a new generation of artists and now offers daily tours.
