The Sint-Jan Hospital Museum, founded in the Middle Ages, saw nuns and monks take care of pilgrims, travellers and the sick. The ward is surprisingly well maintained and features a church and an impressive collection of art and medical instruments.

The museum also owns six works of art by Hans Memling. The 15th-century master created many of his greatest works for the hospital, including the famous St Ursula shrine. Don't miss the attic, where visitors will be able to admire one of the oldest monumental roof truss systems in the world. The old apothecary chamber and the kitchen garden are also worth a visit.
