The Sam Tung Uk Museum is a reconstructed walled village, providing visitors with a living re-enactment of the agricultural, pre-commercial Hong Kong of the 18th century. Rustic and simple, the museum is an island of peace amongst the modern urban bustle.
Populated by actors, the museum is a hands-on living tableau of history, showing how the agricultural communities of Hong Kong functioned 200 years ago. There's an ancestral hall and eight buildings within the grounds, mostly furnished.
