    Toronto:

The Royal Ontario Museum is a Toronto mainstay, but its Michael Lee-Chin Crystal addition draws heightened attention. Located in Queen's Park, it features terrific East Asian, First Peoples and Canadian exhibits, as well as a dinosaur exhibit.

The largest in Canada, its galleries focus on art, archaeology and science that explore the world's culture and natural history. The museum first opened to the public in 1914, and there was a huge renovation in 1978.
