Whether you agree with bullfighting or not, it is hard to ignore the ornate Baroque façade of Seville's Real Maestranza 14,000-seater bullring. Take a tour of the museum to see oil paintings, elaborate matador costumes and other bullfighting memorabilia.
Construction began on the Real Maestranza bullring in 1761 on the site of an old flea market and took over a century to complete. On bullfighting days (usually feast days between Easter and October), the ring fills with thousands of ardent spectators, white handkerchiefs at the ready, anxious to see an example of "tremendismo" - fearless fighting from the matador.
