    Canberra:

Built into Capital Hill and overlooking the Old Parliament House, Canberra's 'new' Parliament House is the seat of both the Senate and House of Representatives. It also boasts stunning, environmentally friendly architecture and a great art collection.

Parliament House was designed by Romaldo Giurgola and constructed almost exclusively out of Australian materials. The grand building was opened by Queen Elizabeth II on 9 May 1988 as part of the centenary celebrations.

Visiting hours vary according to whether either house is sitting but there are also guided tours available, please check Parliament House's website for further information.
