The Dallas Museum of Art forms the western anchor of Dallas' Arts District, the largest urban arts district in the US. Exhibits include extensive European and American masters, as well as the nation's most extensive collection of African works.
The museum has a wide variety of work in its collections: paintings and sculptures from the USA, Canada and Mexico, with strength in 20th-century Texan art; European art from the 18th-20th centuries, including works by Dürer, Monet, Degas, Léger and Picasso.
As well as presenting temporary exhibitions, the museum also hosts discussions, films, performances, workshops and a community outreach programme.
