    Hobart:

Known as Unghbanyahletta or Poorawetter to the indigenous people of the area, Mount Wellington towers 1270 metres above Hobart's harbour and town centre. The mountain provides many opportunities for bushwalking, cycling and abseiling and is much loved by locals.

Mount Wellington provides Hobart with an ever-changing backdrop. The drive to the summit is a journey from lush rainforest, sub-alpine flora and glacial rock formations to sweeping vistas of Hobart, Bruny Island, South Arm and the Tasman Peninsula.

Organised bus tours run all the way to the top. Please note that it's always very cold at the mountain's peak, even at the height of summer.
