Mount Royal Park is downtown's largest green space with great views of the cityscape from the chalet lookout. It attracts joggers, cyclists and skiers. Skaters head to Beaver Lake. Dance to tam-tam drums at the monument to Sir George-Étienne Cartier.
The park was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, famous for designing New York's Central Park, and inaugurated in 1876.
