One of the biggest military museums in the world, St Petersburg's Military Historical Museum of Artillery, Engineering Corps and Signals houses a huge collection of arms and artillery. Other artefacts for the family to enjoy include miniature soldiers.
The museum displays missile art, large calibre weapons and military memorabilia from the Middle Ages through to the modern day. Following Russia's history of arms, the museum allows visitors to take advantage of exhibitions, guided tours and lectures.
Don't miss a peek at cannons made by Andrei Chokhov, who created the famous Tsar Cannon. Other must-sees are medals and gifts by Russian Emperors, an official chariot that carried the artillery banner in the 18th century and trophy arms.
