    Geneva:

Housed in a 1950s factory in Geneva's trendy Plainpalais district, MAMCO showcases European and American contemporary art. Swiss artists like Sylvie Fleury and Thomas Huber, and a playful programme of installations, are displayed against the industrial backdrop.

In a convivial manner inspired by the spirit of Marcel Duchamp, MAMCO encourages people to reconsider their understanding of the notions of "contemporary art" and "museum". Several times a year the museum presents a new stage of its ongoing construction with temporary exhibitions and new presentations of its collection.

Thanks to its opening, the area surrounding the museum has become the hip and trendy art district of Geneva, with many young galleries settling there. Have a look around when visiting.
