    Geneva:

Glimpse old Geneva at the Maison Tavel in the Vieille Ville, home to the wealthy Tavel family during the 14th century. Today the single-towered house is a museum devoted to the urban history and daily life of the city.

A trip around its curious rooms, packed full of paintings and antique furniture, offers an insight into Genevois life from the 14th to 19th centuries. Engravings, photographs, coins, furniture and silver all bear witness to the city's past. Be sure to climb the stairs to the attic, almost entirely filled with a fascinating model of 1850s Geneva.
