    Marrakech:

The sub-tropical Jardin Majorelle is probably the most beautiful garden in Marrakech. Initially laid out by French painter and plant collector Jacques Majorelle, today it features bamboo, towering palms and huge cacti along with a goldfish pond sustaining aquatic plants.

After a car accident Jacques Majorelle returned to France and the garden became overgrown. The French designer Yves-Saint Laurent bought it in 1980, restored it with Pierre Bergé and founded a small museum of Islamic art here.
