    Toronto:

One of world's tallest buildings, at 553 metres, the CN Tower is synonymous with Toronto itself. Located near the Harbourfront, a trip up to the observation deck is popular, as are visits to the rotating 360 Restaurant and two cafés.

Rotating once every 72 minutes, the restaurant provides a complete view of the city below. Other attractions include the state-of-the-art Edge Arcade, motion simulator rides, four observation decks and, for those with a particularly strong stomach, an unobstructed glass floor at a height of 342 metres (1122 feet).

This awesome construction, which was built in 1976 by Canadian National (CN), was intended to be an architectural manifestation of the strength of Canadian industry. In the 1990s the tower and surrounding area benefitted from an extensive revitalisation project, completed in June 1998.
