Tallinn City Museum, in Old Tallinn's centre, dates back to the 14th century. It showcases Tallinn's history throughout the centuries from the end of prehistoric times up to re-independence in 1991. Temporary exhibitions are also held throughout the year.
The museum building originally belonged to renowned citizens of the town - merchants and town councillors, and shows great details of medieval architecture.
