    Seattle:

Seattle's Asian community resides in the Chinatown-International District, scented with Chinese herbs and the aroma of roasting ducks. Visitors can sample spicy dishes, shop for unusual gifts and take in the area's history at the Wing Luke Asian Museum.

One of Seattle's oldest neighbourhoods, watch out for colourful local events, from New Year celebrations in February to the Summer Festival.

The first Asian immigrants to establish themselves here were the Chinese, in the mid-19th century, with Japanese, Filipinos and Vietnamese following in later years. The area is vibrant with diversity and features many businesses including hotels, laundries, bathhouses and restaurants.
