    In 1705 Claude de Ramezay, the 11th governor of the colony, built himself a residence in Old Montreal. After having hosted Benjamin Franklin's American revolutionaries, it became the Château Ramezay Museum, filled with portraits, furniture, Amerindian artefacts and more.
