    Seattle:

Gigantic reptiles, volcanoes and cultures of the Pacific are explored at the Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture in Capitol Hill. One exhibition showcases 500 million years of Washington State history, others look at the Pacific Rim's cultures.

Among the three million artefacts and specimens, the Burke Museum lays claim to the oldest baleen whale fossil in the world and a replica cave of the only rhino in the world found preserved in lava. Visitors can walk through a model of a rumbling volcano and inspect the Allosaurus skeleton - a flesh-eating dinosaur the size of a bus.
