    Berlin:

Alexanderplatz, located in the central district of Mitte, is Berlin's most important square. Characterised by its 1960s architecture, it is home to cinemas, shops and the famous Fernsehturm (TV tower).

Alexanderplatz was originally located outside the city walls and was used as a marketplace. It was named after the Russian Tsar Alexander II when he visited in 1805.

Alexanderplatz isn't the most beautiful attraction but nonetheless it's not to be missed. Take a wander, watch the locals going about their daily business and visit "Alex", the TV tower, the Red Town Hall, Marienkirche church and Neptune Fountain.
