HI-Boston is in the downtown Back Bay area, which includes some of the best museums and night spots in the city. Guests can enjoy daily programs, lectures, films, and workshops at the hostel. A walk along the famous Freedom Trail is the best way to see the sights that played a part in the American Revolution. Stroll around Boston Common, take in a Boston Pops concert and wander through Quincy Market with its food stalls and free entertainment. The hostel is only a few steps away from Fenway Park and from fashionable shopping on Newbury Street.

NEWS!! Hostelling International Boston is turning green! No, it is not ill, nor is it giving up its blue and white logo; we are becoming more environmentally friendly! HI-Boston’s eco-program will afford our staff and guests the opportunity to become “better stewards of the earth and its resources.” At HI Boston you will find great recycling stations, energy efficient lighting and appliances, low VOC paint, recyclable carpet, low-flow plumbing, environmental-friendly cleaning products, and motivational signs as reminders to be good stewards of the earth.
We are going beyond the traditional way of thought for conservation and recycling! Just like our linen, the future of our “Green HI-Boston” looks bright!

Very good place to stay! The staff is very helpful and willing to answer all questions and solve problems.

  2. Tim From Hong Kong On June 26, 2011

The hostel is nice, and the breakfast is delicious. It will be perfect if there is electric plug in every bed.

  3. allan From Scotland On May 18, 2011

Hostel Room Smelled Bad, Interior run-down. Taps broken, poor bedding (possible bed-bugs) Wi-fi never worked, location decent, Staff ok, but could be better/more courteous. Review by me, have stayed in over 100 hostels and this was near the bottom.

  4. Justin From USA On April 13, 2011

HI Hostel was a great experience. Room was pretty clean. Breakfast in the morning was a nice service. Good location and helpful staff.

  5. Joelle From USA On March 23, 2011

    kind of noisy.

  6. William From England On August 22, 2010

This was the most disgusting hostel I have ever stayed in - the place absolutely STANK, it was really damp and the air conditioning just blew horrible stale air into the rooms. The place was really old, carpets all torn and no air in the place at all. I got bitten all over by bed bugs and had to change rooms but the sheets still had blood stains on them from previously bitten people. People were bitten by flees! STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Busy booked hostel (so book on time), old people around (60years or older) and they clean the rest rooms when everybody is checking out (not really handy if you are in a hurry). Toilets have sometimes problems with flushing.

  12. Rodine From Netherlands On August 25, 2009
