Located in the Tobelhof district, conservation-conscious Zurich Zoo is home to 250 different species including endangered snow leopards and red pandas. Spacious enclosures recreate ecosystems from exotic Madagascar, playground of red-ruffed lemurs, to Ethiopian Highlands where Gelada baboons roam.
Kids can pet and feed sheep, pigs, ponies and goats at Zoolino. As the centre edges more towards wildlife conservation than entertainment, animals are allowed to roam (relatively) freely, as they would in their natural habitats. Animal lovers can get back to nature by exploring the centre's forest, mountain, tropical and aquatic ecosystems.
