Celebrating the life and work of "the father of psychoanalysis", Vienna's Sigmund Freud Museum consists of his study, consulting room and waiting room. This is where he lived from 1891 until 1938, when he had to flee Austria for London.
In 1968 the city of Vienna acquired the property and turned it into the museum with the help of Freud's daughter, Anna. The waiting room has been restored, and documentation on Freud's life and work in the study and consulting room make up the museum's permanent exhibition.
