After 05 years of service rendering, our Terra Brasilis Hostel is underway of great changes. Since October 2011, our charming XIX century house is being refurbished and restored. In the early of 2012, our Hostel will be reopening its doors with a brand new look. Our guests will be lodged in a comfortable and enjoyable environment. A new lounge room is about to be provided as a groovy gathering place to meet people and friends or just simply for the ones who may enjoy the flabbergasting sight. In this very new place, the ones who visit Terra Brasilis will enjoy home theater, a bar with a wood-burning pizza oven, with one of the various services rendered by us. One thing that remains untouched is our peculiar venue, located at a peace and quiet dead end street in one of the most pleasant neighborhoods of Rio de Janeiro, which is Santa Teresa´s.
There is one thing the visitors just don´t forget is our astonishing 180º view faced towards Lapa, centermost point of “carioca” lifestyle night flanked by all Rio attractions and Guanabara Bay is still there!

    This is a nice hostel with friendly staff. We splashed out and stayed in the suite (double room with bathroom, though actually in the corridor, not part of the room). We liked the staff though found standards to be pretty sloppy. E.g. we asked for the sheets to be changed after 2 days (standard daily change in brazil in any type of hotel) and they refused. Not good customer service for a place charging $R150/night!

    Fantastic views from the room, in a clean and safe location. The hostel has a nice and relaxed atmosphere. Lapa, the party place in Rio, is a few minutes down the hill, and a short taxi ride back up! Great location, nice rooms, friendly staff.

    Fantastic terrace with a nice view of Rio. Very friendly staff, great breakfast and towels are included. Unfortunately internet access is not included, the hostel charges 6 reais extra per hour of internet use.

    The best hostel you can imagine, located in beautiful Santa Terasa and walking distance to the nightlife of Lapa, a terrasse with an incredible view over the city and cosy hammocks, big and clean dorms, friendly staff and a lovely couple running the place. You will love it!
