    I stayed here for 2 nights. In general hostel is not bad. I liked the location:next to the church and castle. Breakfast - nothing special, but tasty. Basic beds. Not bad place to sleep 1-2 nights. The best thing in the place is Ana, she is really welcoming. Only one person who is smiling there. Weak points: towels smell old and from the first moment it is giving you a bad impression; staff- when I arrived in the morning I was informed that check in is at 14:00, but the girl didn't want to let me in even to put my bag or use the washroom. Nice welcome, right? No one knows the city. The most popularly answer "i don't know". But what am I asking for if they even don't know the price for their towels ( which I found later on the back of the door). Atmosphere is also weak point. I stayed in 2 hostels before and I was lucky to see the real spirit of hostel. Staff was organizing parties, process of making friends, the trip which you will remember. Here: nothing. Beautiful living room is always empty. So, if you what a place with good price just to put your things and sleep this place is for you.

    it was a bit noisy during the night, but overall it was ok. Very well situated in the city, nice and cosy atmosphere.

    Place to stay ! If you're looking for great place to stay in, Johnies place is surely that place! Located in old part of Lisbon, with belvedere to the hole city just in front of the hostel, only 10 minutes walk to the centre,with very clean rooms, great homemade cookies by Ana who is willing to give you directions of some great alternative bars, clubs, very nice restorants were you can try original portugese food...charming! GO THERE, YOU WAN'T FAIL!!!

    I have stayed in many hostels in lisbon and johnies place was the best value and most enjoyable of all of them.They have fantastic staff,great location and brilliant breakfast with home made cake.I strongly recommend this hostel.
