Info & Description
The hostel is located to the east of the city centre in a quiet, typical Amsterdam neighbourhood. Amsterdam’s historic centre is less than 15 minutes away by bike or tram.Stayokay Amsterdam Oost has its own café-restaurant and shares the premises with a number of interesting neighbours, which means that there’s always plenty to do, if you stay here. Housed in a former school building from around 1900, the hostel has a classic setting with modern facilities and includes several multifunction rooms.
The renovated rooms are spacious, with en-suite bathroom, and common areas are designed to match the multicultural history of this neighbourhood. The hostel also shares the building with a cinema and theater - a truly fantastic entertainment combination!

Very busy hostel, hallways stink of BO. Avoid breakfast, watery eggs and stale cereal for 7€. Bring ear plugs because people are running and jumping until midnight every night.
I loved how clean this Hostel was. It was very inviting and was very well organized.
The Hostel is perfect. Spanish boys I stayed with drove ne nuts. They sere too loud. They go out and come back in 45 minutes. Stay about half an hour and go out again. Well they were going out and coming back. They stop in 4am. Dell if you stay at a dorm just be very careful. Otherwise hostel is lovely breakfest is great :))
We a group of 8 people stayed at stay okay zee burg during our amsterdam trip in the last week. The hostel is one of the things which made our trip more comfortable. Location of the hostel is a few kms away from central railway station but because of the frequent transport facilities it will not be a problem. The breakfast was good, rooms are superb clean, staff service was really good. As a whole I can say No regrets and definitely money's worth. We enjoyed our stay there and definitely will recommend it to others. Have fun.
The Hostel was very clean and the staff always there to help you. Breakfast was good. The only bad thing about stayokay is that it's pretty far from the center (almost an hour walk) but for the price I didn't complain! I recommend it!
Very nice, very comfortable. the toilet is clean and the breakfast is good! there are very nice restaurants and cafes near-by
Although officially a hostel, this residence was most definitely a hotel experience. The reception is manned 27/7 by uniformed staff and appears rather strict. The rooms were very clean and suited their purpose but they really only just fit 2 bunk beds in. The area was nice but due to the location, you will be required to pay for a tram ticket to get to the hostel. Thankfully, a 24hr ticket only costs €7.20 so it wasn't so bad. It was very quiet and the area seemed nice and safe enough however if you are wanting to see more of Amsterdam I'd recommend staying closer in.
It was great :)
Very nice, well positioned bus and tram really close to hostel, only a bit out of central zone recomanded for sure ! i'll use it again every time in holland.
Nice place. A bit far from the centre but that's ok!
Windows are very old and does not close O.K. The shower overflows . The rest was perfect
This place was the best amongst all the similar same-priced places we have stayed in Bruges, Brussels and Paris. Very clean, very elegant, very professional. Lots of tourists in the restaurant/bar, nice atmosphere. breakfast was really nice. The only drawback is you need to take tram to center.
good hotel, excellent location. staff was very nice and helpfull. Amsterdam was a lovely city!
Excellent hostel! Would definitively stay there again!
Nice Hostel, but not much going on at the hostelbar. Crappy music and high prices except for the happy hour. Rooms were nice
Very good accommodation in there. Also I'm even more than 100% satisfied with your staff. I would put 200%. Just location is kinda out of town but over all it's great deal to stay there.
A little out of the city centre so allows for quiet nights sleep but easily get into centre by tram or walk. Large funky rooms & large dining room with included breakfast with large selection. Would reccomend this hostel. Room was clean, just found toilets in communal areas unkept.
The hostel is pretty good, but a bit far from the city center.
It's quite a hike from the train station, but the hostel was nice and so was the surrounding neighborhood. Definitely recommended.
I have nothing to complain about my stay at this hostel. The room was huge, staff was friendly and (besides the rooms) everything was reallr nice and modern. It is about a 2 minute walk away from the train stop, and then a 10 minute train ride away from downtown Amsterdam. Getting back there was a little bit confusing because the train route numbers change so ask about that before you leave.
