I was very satisfied with Ca'Venezia as it was near the subway, laundromat and grocery stores. It helped to have GoogleEarthed the location. The owners were very helpful with directions and recommendation to reserve visiting times on web for some of the tourist sites, such as La Sagrada Familia (get separate ticket for S. Fam elevator early). Get reservation for Picasso Museum, too. Terrific subway system! I got public transportation T-10 ticket at Tobacco Shop just outside exit of first terminal; good for 10 rides. Ticket machines were at rail station which is about .2 miles over across the elevated walkway from the terminal. Hostel managers reside in first ground floor apt. to your left through the outer iron gate entrance. Kitchen is very clean and fully supplied. My single room was small but had plenty of storage space; other rooms looked larger. Two very clean WC's were available. Free apples and oranges in the kitchen! I was there during September A La Merce Week which had parade, concerts and fireworks. The Tourist Bus get on/off 3 route tour is helpful for orientation and access to tourist sites if you don't do your own subway traveling. Hostel was terrific for my needs.
I booked a bed in a dorm with a private bathroom. The bactroom was actually shared among 2 rooms (about 10 people) very small and accessible only to one person at a time. When I pointed out this to the owner he was quite aggressive and pretended that I was wrong. I would not recommend this place.
Really really not amazing but it's correct. STRONG POINTS: - Situation. 5-10 min walk from Piazza San Marco, but in a quiet area, quite close from Arsenale and Giardini. Supermarket nearby. - Kitchen available. - A big wardrobe in the bedroom. Weak points: - Beds are really not good. - No lockers. - Common area are okay but really dark and small. - I've found the overall atmosphere a bit gloomy. - One bathroom with toilets inside for 11 people. The thing is that any place to stay in Venise (on the main Island) is excessively expensive. Here it will help you to respect your budget, but really don't expect much more.
The location is close to Biennale location, which is great. The hostel was not clean (bathroom shower expecially), and it didn t have some basic stuff - like soap and towels. The owner was friendly.
friendly welcome - nice view from roof terrace..may be a little crowded in 8 bedroom dorm, when fully occupied....
The staff have been very helpful and I enjoyed staying here. I will be coming back here.
What I liked: The central location close to San Marcus square, the friendly staff, dorm and bathroom were comfortable and clean and for sure: the great view above the city center! However, 30 euros per night is definitely too much for a bed in a dorm (shared with up to 7 other people) and a shared bathroom! Moreover, there was neither personal lockers, nor a reading light above the beds, nor towels or bed linen (there was a bed sheet but nothing to cover the blanket). All in all I had a great stay in Venice! If you are just looking for a clean place to sleep close to the city center Ca Venezia is a good option. But don´t expect luxury or privacy:-)
When I booked I've received an email telling that fresh towels are included, bUT I had to pay 2€ for that. It's not fair.
The location of this hostel is excellent. It is really close to the main attractions. The rooftop has an awesome view. Amran (the host) was very friendly and helped me to get to know the beautiful city Venezia is. I sure am going back and when I go I'm staying at Ca' Venezia again. You probably won't find anything good as cheap as this, either. My only complaints would be the bathroom, which had a little water leak that made the floor wet and the bathroom door, that wasn't that bad, but wouldn't close completely.
Pretty good location, but unfortunately the wifi didn't work in the rooms. Staff were very helpful.
Don't express much comfort here, but then it's very cool! The staff is very helpful and friendly, small kitchen for small needs, no luxury in the bathroom, roof top to chill on, supermarket and café right around the corner, quite central position!
It was okay. room and bed was clean. they cleand Toilette and shower every day. positon was very good! next to the Center!
Fantastic hostel, underated by tripadvisor. AMRAN is pretty awesome.
I stayed for one night at Ca' Venezia. It is a bit far from the train, but about a 15 min walk to San Marco. I had a great view from my bed, though no outlet (just my bed though). The owner is helpful. There was only one bathroom on the floor, so it got a little busy some times. Overall, a good stay.
Great location and really nice owner. My only complaint is that there was only 1 bathroom (1 shower, 1 toilet) for 10 people. Other than that, had a great stay and was very impressed by the cool rooftop.
Loved this place! Amran is the man... he takes the time to give you a whole waking tour layout of how to see Venice in however much time you have. Nothing bad to say about it :)
could have been better if the shower and floor were cleaner. Operated by nice people.
It is quiet far from St Marco square. Coudn't use wi-fi in the room. But, hospitality is the best in the world!!
excellent place, warm welcome of the owner, excellent advises from him, we highly recommand this adress! If there was one thing to mention:we'd have prefer to sleep with a clean sheet on the top rather than just a cover wich cleanlyness was doubtfull.thank you for your friendlyness
Very helpful staff, free Map provided, Clean rooms, Wifi worked fine. Kitchen, Refrigerator, TV etc available. There could be more power outlets to make things more convenient.
