VERY IMPORTANT: Antico Capon was the old name of the hotel. So it helps when you ask for Antico Capon. A super deal in the best local area in Venice. Near Campo Santa Margherita and its environs have everything you'll need to feel like a native in this tourist-plagued city. Most mornings there is a small market selling fruit, vegetables, and fresh fish in the square. You will also find places for pizza, supermarket, an Irish pub, laundry and more.

If you've been to Venice before and disliked the crowds, this is the place for you to stay. It is truly a respite from insanity. The perfect antidote for the crowds of Venice.

The place is right in the midle of the students area, and has a variety of rooms. The beds are wide and firm, the rooms bright and airy.

Location is OK. But it is on a plaza very active at night, with intense partying going on. Windows isolate noise fine, but consider earplugs if your are sensible. We requested two separate beds, which we did not get the 1st night. Later we got another bed with a mattress of poor quality. We had to share the ONE double bed. It is a bit expensive for what you get.

It is a great place to stay with superb location, near everything! The area is full of students and good prices food.

Great stay at the Antico Capon, thank you very much to the very friendly and helpful staff. Great value!

The location is amazing! Right in the middle of everything, at night the square below the hotel can get very noisy with students which we loved because its an easy way to meet people. All the staff there where very friendly and spoke English well. The room and bathroom were very clean and the towels and sheets where changed daily. Its definitly not a five star hotel but its well worth the money just for the location and friendly service! Would def stay there again.

This hostel is in a GREAT location (right in Campo San Margherita) with a bunch of restaurants and nightlife literally right outside your window. That, however, is about the only thing it has going for it so if that is important to you, please stay here. The shower was sort of busted, the rooms are real small, and the staff is impersonal and not friendly or helpful at all. But, still, it has a great location.

Hostel is on excellent location. Supermarket is near.Toilets are good and clean. Bus station is 5 min walking. Blankets are not so clean and without linen for blankets. This is good base for walking around.

Very nice position but not easy with your luggage so don't take to mutch! If you arrive from the Plaza de Roma busstation or the trainstation you will have to walk over 3 or 4 bridjes with your luggage and then the stairs of the hotel. We had a room on the front with a nice view on the campo. At night you have a lot of noise of the students that go there for a drink so think about your earbuttons or ask a room at the back side. When you go out of the hotel, you are in the center. The shuttleboats are on 10 min walking (3 different stops) but if you want, you can do everything at feet. If you stay 1 week, no problem but if you stay only 2 nights it is better to not loose time and buy a Venice card to take the boats whenever you want because with this card it is cheaper.

We just returned from Venice- we stayed in this hotel and this was a very good choice - clean room, private WC and bathroom, hot water, excellent position (only 5 min from P.Roma), lots of bars nearby full with young people (most of them local students), nice staff, a supermarket 1 minute away, reasonable price per night...

the hostel is very well located, in a very nice square with restaurants, bars and a supermarket. the staff is polite and the price is very good. the rooms in front of the square are very noisy though.
