Linda and Steve moved to Rome in 1999 with 2 cats, a Swiss army knife and a lot of enthusiasm. And right from here their hostel is born, The Beehive: it offers various types of rooms to satisfy all travel styles and budgets. They range from dorms to private rooms with private bathrooms. Among the common areas, there is a beautiful garden courtyard where guests can relax and where many events are held and a small vegetarian cafe (where breakfast and dinners are served).

The Beehive Hostel is an accommodation halfway between a hostel and a boutique hotel and it offers both shared dormitories (mixed or female only), or private rooms that combine comfort and style. All with prices that give a nod to those traveling on a limited budget. The staff also runs a small pension 1 block away, the Beehive "dependance" which has 8 affordable private rooms with bathroom, air conditioning, safe and TV.

The small cafe of the Beehive Hostel is 100% vegetarian and the most organic possible. Naturally leavened bread is homemade, as are bagels, pastries and cakes. Coffee is organic and fair trade. The bar is open to guests and locals. There is also a common kitchen for guests, which can use a fridge, microwave, kettle, plates, glasses and cutlery, but not the stove. Events, family dinners and cooking and yoga classes are regularly held.
