„Il rifugio delle poiane“ stands for „the refuge for the buzzards“ and it is the name of our magical, romantic old country house and estate in the country of Ripalbella, in Tuscany, Italy.

It was built with pink and grey stones and completetly renovated according to the principles of bio-architecture. With three double rooms, two apartments, one meeting room of 80 qm or mixed dorm(~6 x 18 yards), and 13 hectars of beautiful pasture land and forest.

The house is on the top of a hill, surrounded by oak, olive and cork trees. On the way to us, you can see the Tirrenian sea and the sunny islands of Elba, Capraia and Corsica surrounded by the wonderful view of the unspoilt forest. A few steps from the house there is a stream, the 'Torignanino“.

The lovers of Toscany culture call the country of Riparbella the central point of a „magical triangle“, because it is located between Montescudaio (one of the most charming medieval cities of Tuscany), Casale Marittimo (one of the most beautiful beachs) and Riparbella. It is close to many of the most interesting sight of Tuscany: Pisa (35km), Florence (100km), San Giaminano (50km), Siena (80km) and Volterra (35km).

The atmosphere of the place evoques silence, calls the spirit to relaxation, meditation and healing and helps to come back to the natural psycho.physical balance.

This place is a special wildlife reserve with deer, boars, birds and other wild and domestic animals... we have also a pure stallion called Baba that wanders around enjoing the freedom which everyone can feel in this marvelous place.
There are many beautiful paths for hiking and exploring the natural forest around us.
