Returned to this hostel to discover that they don't have a kitchen as written on this site...... Too bad. It would have been a perfect hostel if only it had a kitchen. But they do have a common area which is a bar where you can sit and eat stuff you bought.

Best wifi I've had in hostels! Good location, close to victoria and city centre Helpful staff, especially the young man Good breakfast with cereals and orange juice and more Only thing i could say was there were only 2 cells in the bathroom but one room accommodates more than 20 Overall i would return to it anyway!

2nd time. Good value and location for backpackers. But very bad WIFI connection. Recommend go to Victoria Place to use their free WiFi.

Unfortunately, my experience with the White Ferry Hostel was not good at all and I cannot recommend going there not even for one night. It made my stay in the UK quite unpleasant. On first sight, the hostel looks quite cozy and the pub on the ground floor is indeed worth a visit. The hostel itself is pretty busy (I guess due to its excellent location, it’s quite close to the Victoria (coach) station and hence good for people who have to leave early the next morning) but the facilities are kind of overloaded. There’s one unisex bathroom for at least 30 people. I think even public toilets are cleaner. But that’s actually not the reason for my unpleasant experience. What happened was the following: I booked a bed in the hostel via hostelscentral.com (hostelsclub) for 25th June 2015 and I also received a booking confirmation email. There it was stated that I would have to pay 13.49 GBP for the bed when I arrive at the hostel. My credit card was debited with 2.04 EURO beforehand, I guess as a kind of bookingfee, which was, however, stated nowhere on the website. I also booked another night at the White Ferry via booking.com for 2nd to 3rd July 2015. When I arrived at the White Ferry hostel the stuff couldn’t find me in the list of reservations for that particular night, but when checking their mails they indeed found the mail from hostelsclub, meaning the hostel was simply overbooked that night. The stuff-member even admitted that I was not the first one that night to which this happened. Luckily the stuff organised me accommodation in one of their partner hostel "The Exmouth Arms". However, I had to take a tube to get there and back the next morning again, which costed me another 9.60 GBP. Money I got not refunded of course. But on top of the additional money I had to spent, I lost most of my little time I had in London, which was really a pity as I couldn’t see the city as I planned to and it made everything quite complicated. My stay at "The Exmouth Arms" was okay, the stuff was nice. There I paid the amount of 13.49 GBP in cash as it was indicated in my booking confirmation by hostelscentral (I had to negotiate first, however, as they first wanted to charge me 20.38 GBP which was the amount that it would have been if I paid in EURO). When I returned back home after my whole trip I found out that my credit card which I had to specify during the reservation process was additionally debited with 20.38 GBP (which equalled 28,72 EURO). I sent a mail to the White Ferry Hostel and kindly asked them to refund me the amount of 20.38 GBP soon. However, I didn’t receive any respond. So I contacted hostelscentral where they answered me immediately and said they would (and also did) contact the hostel to clarify this issue. However, I still didn’t get my money back.

  7. Tessa From England On November 30, -0001

It's a lot of people in one room so can get noisy (mostly with snoring!) and the breakfast is basic, but you really couldn't beat this hostel for cleanliness in all the areas that matter and value for money.

Our group of 30 people of which 28 were students, stayed for 3 nights in the White Ferry House. It was my first time in such an Hostel, but I think it's great value for money. However the first two days there were problems with the showers (cold water only) and the beds are really cheap. You can actually feel the springs inside the matrass, this could be improved easily. The pub downstairs is fine and open 24/7, also the pizza's taste good. It's a 10 minute walk to Victoria station. From there on you can get everywhere easliy with the underground train. Definately recommended.

The location is really excellent because if you stay in UK for a long time, you will want to travel to other cities and you will be looking for megabus or natonal express which has its station in Victoria and most of the coaches depart there. The price is really good considering it includes breakfast and a very clean place to stay. The bad points are that the locker is too small to put your luggage in and the shower is not so good. The water is either too hot or too cold. Also, it has only one socket outside the room. When you want to charge your phone or laptop, what you can do is staying outside the room as you don't want to lose it. Anyway, I really recommend this hostel though it can be better

Really great hostel! I was in a 21 beds, I don't know if there are rooms with less beds but it's perfect also like this because the room is big and spacious. They have just 6 rooms. There are cabinets in the room and if you bring your lock they are perfect if you want put important staff inside. VERY CLEAN at anytime! Breakfast in the pub downstairs very nice from 7 to 9am with milk, cereals, coffee, bread and jam. Staff very friendly! You can leave your luggage after your check out in the storage room. Very safe because every door (in the floor, in the bedroom, in the storage room) has a different code. WIFI free works anywhere (commun area and bedrooms). Perfect position because it's just 5 min walking from Victoria Station. GO THERE!!!!

This is a nice hostel in a central position, less than 10 mins from Victoria station. I just don't understand why the kitchen has to close at 8.00 pm and has only microwaves for cooking. The common room (pub) is too small.

  15. Celina From Germany On November 30, -0001

It's a nice place and near Victoria station. The pub with the pool table was great, and the bed linen was realy clean. But there are a few things I missed to be very comfortable. The corridors smelled like wee and bathrooms were unhygienic. I couldn't close the lockers. They said that their are changing them at the moment and I got the possibility to lock my things in the luggage room where there were new lockers quiet better than the others in my room. All in all I can say that I possibly will come back again because it's pretty cheap, the bed is clean and the location near Victoria is great.

Clean and very cheap hostel with excellent service. Free wi-fi (works perfectly) and breakfast (tasty and without limitation).

  17. Blaz From Slovenia On November 30, -0001

The three-storey bunk beds are made of a light metal grid so if anyone climbs the ledder or just turns in his/her bed, the whole structure shakes as there was a 12 Richter earthquake. If you like to travel light without a laptop you are screwed because there are no PCs to check your e-mail. Also, high extra charges for e.g. a towel (5 pounds). Otherwise a very clean place, friendly staff, functional common areas, etc

  18. Steffen From Germany On November 30, -0001

Very clean hostel and very close to Victoria Station. You also get free vouchers for drinks which makes them really cheap! Friendly staff! I can recommend the hostel without hesitation!
