Jerusalem known to be The Holy Land is the place where Jesus spent most of his life. Before celebrating the birth of Jesus you can go to Golgotha and commemorate his death it is a powerful place and an honor to stand where Jesus Christ was crucified.
Bethlehem according to the Holy Bible is where Jesus was born, which is a ride away from Jerusalem.
One good place to visit is the Manger Square; there are a lot of international choirs dominating the place.
Another way to celebrate Christmas is to eat good food. Scala a Chef kitchen and bar has an outstanding record from the creativity of the plating, color and taste of the starters, entrees and dessert were exquisite. It also has a great combination of French and Middle Eastern flavors. Chakra is another great restaurant. The food is Mediterranean in character. The wine list is extensive and provides a nice selection for any price level. It is great to share couple of first courses before your entrees or for lighter meal you can build around some several appetizers and salads. Service is friendly, attentive and efficient.
The Western Wailing Wall is really an incredible place. To see many people from around the world make pilgrimages to this holy city and to pray at the Western wall. This whole area is so filled with history that it's really worth a visit regardless of your religion. There are also tour guides for your visit to the city; it really makes all the difference hearing the history of a place while you're standing there.
For accommodation, there is The Jerusalem Hostel that offers 15 EUR per night, per person. It is the only hostel in the west part of town. Another choice would be Hashimi Hotel and Hostel. The newly renovated Hasimi Hotel stands monumentally in the heart of the Old City. Double, Family & Dormitory rooms, all with private bathrooms. They offer 55 EUR for private rooms per night.
