A swathe of greenery in the heart of Berlin, Tiergarten is where locals flock when the sun is out. Once a Prussian hunting ground, the city's largest park is crisscrossed with footpaths leading to tranquil lakes, mature woodland and English-style gardens.
Bordering the Reichstag and Diplomats' Quarter, where most of the city's embassies cluster, the garden was landscaped by garden architect Peter Joseph Lenné. At its centre lies the white, three-winged Schloss Bellevue - the grand seat of Germany's president.
