Lindholm Høje is a major Viking burial site and former settlement, overlooking Aalborg. Around 700 graves have been excavated, and north of the burial ground a village has been discovered with finds including remains of houses, wells, fences and fire-pits.

The area was subject to drifting sand and it was wholly buried in about AD 1000, which meant that the stone markings and a newly ploughed field were preserved until today. Many of the discoveries are presented in the museum.
