Look up to spy the onion-shaped domes of the Hofkirche (Imperial Church), rising like a vision above Innsbruck's rooftops. This late-Gothic edifice raises eyebrows with its striking Renaissance portal, steep terraced buttresses and slender arched windows.
Take a peek inside to admire the red marble pillars, the Silver Chapel's ribbed vaulting and the cedar wood organ. A highlight is the gilded tomb of Emperor Maximilian I, guarded by 28 larger-than-life bronze statues.
